LED Storm is a vertical scrolling racing game. The player has top view and control of the car for speed, left, right, and jump. The player races across various courses, and can force other cars off the road or jump on top of them.

Totally not Bump n Jump.

Recently took the nephews to a retro arcade in the area and found this gem I was unfamiliar with.  Don't run out of energy!

Aww man.  What can I say, I like games with cars and it was fresh in my mind after the retro arcade trip.  My nephews didn't really like it though, maybe that's a sign? 

I'll die on this hill though.  I thoroughly enjoy this game.  The trick is to turn up the volume and let those Capcom tunes wash over you.  (I just learned it's the same composer that did Mega Man 2!)

Naw, it's an obscure quote from a random podcast I listen to... but now I realize it makes me look dumb. In honor of that I'm going to keep it.. why not?  Don't afraid to look dumb, that's what I always say

I can do better, I know it!

I dunno if this changes once you're actually good at the game, which I'm clearly not at this point, but I find the speedier the car the higher the score, almost across the board.  This was my first attempt at the F1 car after using the Middle one mostly!

The 'finish the level fast' bonuses are HUGE!

LED Storm Rally 2011 is the better game still tho IMHO, before they retooled it and re-released it as this fairly generic bump n jump clone.
All the home versions were based on Rally 2011

A very interesting proto showed up recently too, which again had very different gameplay.

Nice to see something being played other than the overplayed 'goto' classics anyway, I'd give it a shot if I didn't absolutely suck at it

Yep rally is better, i accidently  played first LED Storm Rally 2011...it is a slightly different game than Mad Gear/Led Storm.

It's the Around the NFL podcast... it's an official NFL podcast but it veers ridiculously off course regularly. 

Anyway.

1,378,504.  I'm inching up there. 

Anybody got any tips, tricks, things they've discovered?  Other than having my best luck with the F1 Machine, this game seems pretty straightforward.
