In my niche of weird music, people always point to Ministry as the biggest pivot in sound. But I've always felt you can draw a straight line from their synth music to the metal. (and enjoy both) Genesis, on the other hand... wow. I hadn't even heard of The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway until I was in my late 20s. And it is nothing like their stuff from the 80s. |
