Fast and the Furious Superbikes Joystick Issue

Hi, has anyone else tried Fast and the Furious Superbikes with the joystick option on? If so, does it work correctly for you? The.menus work fine and the joystick seems to work fine until I accelerate. After that, the computer takes over the controls.
