I have some stuff I need to pack and ship for someone else, but I won't be able to get to that until the weekend. I have been extremely busy with this. I am apparently a farmer now.[IMG]https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190508/63a33431a00ff6faa25247d7bf28d2f8.jpg[/img

Nice looking into the same thing here in NY but I wager it will take some time to go through the process.
in the mean while I got 10 hop plants going in.

Thoughts on my first trip:

First and foremost a huge shout out to Yotsuya, dude made everyone feel right at home and worked tirelessly all weekend in prep for the event just so we could have a good time.

OND, just as epic in real life as on the forum, and on top of it he’s funny as hell.  We chatted all weekend and he put up with my incessant technical questions.

MikeA, might be funnier in real life than on here if, that’s possible.  Very generous guy, and always making sure everyone was having a good time.

Opt2Not, screw you Opt, I’m gonna start practicing more for next year.....that’s all I have to say about that.  Nah, the guys ---smurfing--- good at gamin, and very friendly and happy to give pointers.  Was down to party all hours as long as you didn’t wake him before noon. :o

JAWN, kept the party going, dude can drink, and damn he owns a lot of games.

Viggo, I don’t think we’d chatted once on the forum but the guy was humble (did you know he was behind the Zero Delay encoder?), knowledgeable, friendly, and he waited patiently for my drunk ass and drove me to breakfast.

PBJ, low key, but down for whatever.  Dudes easy to talk to and fun as hell.

Brotha Neph, damn this guy knows a lot.  Maybe too much, :o might’ve killed one or two of my plans.  I owe him for the pinball lessons that got passed down to Malenko.

Gilrock, down for the drinkin, we had a blast by the pool.

Malenko, ---smurfing--- good guy.  Slyly funny, almost over my head, and loves to stir it up.  Knows a ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- ton about gamin and gave me some priceless lessons on the pins.

Haruman, almost had me at Street Fighter 2 CE ;)

Nexusmtz, felt like he was a local, carted us around with no complaints despite being around a bunch of drunks.

And finally TTC, can’t repay this guy, set the tone for the whole weekend.  Mesa is lucky to have you.

Planning on making this an annual trip, still got the smile on my face.

Arroyo just jumped right in with everyone. I don't think he stopped smiling the entire trip. I felt like I was talking to an old friend even though we just met.

Hey I'm up at 6am every morning these days, a solo weekend of sleeping in was one of the reasons I didn't want to take the wife and kid! :lol

You're a good sport though, I can respect people that take losing at a game with dignity.  A lot of people can't take the L these days.  Practice up and we'll bash buttons against each other soon!

ps., thank you again for the Volcano buttons!  I've got a project in mind that i'm going to use them for.

I’m satisfied with my one W with my Ryu and your Guile, that’s good enough for now.  I’m gonna work on it between now and next year so you’ve been warned

Looking forward to seeing what you do with the volcano’s, love those things.

Yeah maybe the people that still want to see the good time you had but weren't able to go.  But if you want to keep it to the people that just went then you do you.

I get that the limited distribution seems a bit mean spirited but it’s because people contributed to it freely, trusting in me not to broadcast it to anyone and everyone.

Finally back home. Last leg of my 2019 Zapcon journey was in Utah. Went hiking around a couple of mountains with an old friend. Came across a mountain goat. Found some pretty sweet hot springs, but Neph don't do community bathing. Saw tons of big country this year. I would recommend every non-local to road trip out to Zapcon and make it a vacation and not just a turn and burn weekend.

Overall 2200 miles. Saw highway elevations from about 1000' to damn near 7000' crossing the continental divide. Saw gas prices from $2.50 (Wyoming rules) clear up to $4.30 in the middle of the Arizona desert. Burned about 63 gallons of gas, or 156 greenbacks.

As I said before... Always great to see faces new and old. If I didn't get much of a chance to talk you... Apologies for being a recluse. Thanks again for another awesome Zapcon, brothers!

PBJ texted me today that he’s back in!!! DIUBA!!!

Wait.... what.

Though the few bills (that I didn’t use human guinea pig cash on) did come in and my wife wondered how I kept that trip so cheap.  Between free rides everywhere and eating almost nothing but store bought hot dogs and chicken wings for 5 days, it was reasonably affordable.  Maybe $750 all in, and that was feeding and boozing a few of you, eating ramen with my scientist bro, and bringing home local earrings for my wife.  Most fun I’ve had in months if not years, too.

Titch, I can't think of a better honeymoon destination than Phoenix.  ;D

OK, he didn’t say he was coming, but I told him he better come, and that is as good as gold!
