ZapCon VII Roll Call - May 4-5, 2019

It was funny the night I got home from ZapCon I was viewing the latest shows I had on the TIVO and I watched an episode of Last Man Standing and the boss had bought a pinball machine for Outdoor World and the guys get into a pinball grudge match....perfect timing.

Yeah this year was really great.
It was awesome to meet some of the guys I interact with here on BYOAC. Some were surprising on how nice and chill they are IRL. I guess I fall in that same category. But it just felt natural to hang-out, joke around and talk shop on games, hardware, etc.

I was happy to finally meet Malenko, after years of conversing with him here and on other sites/social media. And we got him to drink! (he normally doesn't)

Speaking of drinking, I can't believe MikeA and I polished off 2/3rds of a scotch bottle after finishing the rest of the beer in the fridge! (I solo'd 1/3rd of the bottle the night i arrived). It wasn't bourbon like we planned, but it was just as good.

Hearing Ond's silky singing voice after devouring a couple steaks, while drinking pbj's hooch and 2x 5ths of vodka, was a hilarious point in the trip. :lol He's cool dude, and totally fulfilled the picture in my head of him.

Arroyo was pretty hilarious too. Pretty much every time I saw him in the hall he'd flip me the bird.

Great to hang out with Gilrock and nexusmtz around the Robotron machines! Hope I was able to give you some tutoring tips for chasing that high-score!

Yots, TTC, Haruman, thanks again for the hospitality and another fun zapcon! I plan on doing it again next year, I might even drive over a couple cabinets next time.

I'm sitting down today and editing all the video I took at ZapCon this year into a kind of mini-highlights reel. This will be available to BYOAC ZapCon participants only.

Errm, some other highlights for this year (since I'm posting this):

-Meeting Mike A for the first time at the airport.

-Listening to pbj's story about some monkey research centre while drinking his hooch.

-Hanging out with neph at his joint. "Why is everything so bright neph?"

-chatting up some ladies in the pool who were sitting on their large reptilian inflatable pool toy "G'day girls, d’ya think that's a crocodile or an alligator?"

-Post hangover dining with opt2not and TacoTownCharlie and sharing some stories.

-Playing a brand new "Premium Edition" Munsters Pinball.

-Eating Mexican street food with nexusmtz

-Sitting and talking tech with Arroyo and Gilrock

-Chasing Arroyo around ZapCon with my Steadicam while he does "ZapCon tour in 60 seconds"

-Trading crass non-pc jokes with Malenko around the pool

-Raiding the hotel pantry with jawhn
