My arcade stick is not going forward+down.
« on: June 26, 2018, 03:15:45 pm »
Sorry if I am posting it on a wrong page, I am really uninformed about this subject.

I just built an Arcade stick with stuff I ordered from Aliexpress.

Everything works great but sometimes all the keys such as f+d ,d+b,u+l and u+r are not working properly. Like they work sometime and sometime they don't.

Even if they work the map shows forward then down then f+d so something is definitely fishy.

Is there any way I can control it via x360ee software which I used to map my stick properly :notworthy:.

Thanks :notworthy:

Post the joy stick you bought, it kind of sounds like you have a restrictor plate installed and set to 4-way and not 8-way. If this is the case then you just need to turn the plate 90°
 Looks something like this:

I don't think my stick is 4 way,I think it's 8 way only because sometimes it goes d+f but there is a very small click where it goes f+d

You are correct, the plate is set to 8-way right now. Sometimes the center stick is not thick enough to press both switches at the same time. From your picture I cannot tell if the switches have the metal tab on the micro switch, you can bend them a little so the joystick has better contact. Some joysticks will come with an adapter you can put in the shaft to increase the center part.

Joystick center Hat looking piece can be flipped around.

Hi,

I think you are right.

I have uploaded two videos and the link are below

1. It is how my game button mapping shows what are the inputs.

2.How my Shaft and switch looks like and what is happening

Please give a suggestion on how to wide the shaft. Can I use layers of tape to make it 2mm big so it can hit both at same time ?
