Vinyl on BIN Primer?
« on: May 29, 2018, 10:24:59 am »
Hi all, im planning to 3m Wrap my whole cabinet with a 1080 auto vinyl. I have put on 4 coats of BIN Shellac primer and sanded down to 320 I have a good smooth surface. I have a few questions before going to next steps

1. Can I apply a Vinyl wrap directly to this or do I need to first add a acrylic based paint for proper adhesion as the BIN is a oil based primer?

2. Should I set the Vinyl wet like you would on a car or do i need to do it dry?

3. Is there some other type of paint or coat I should use to get the vinyl to adhere to the cabinet?

I used two coats of primer sanded down with 220 grit. Then sprayed a coat of semi-gloss paint to apply the vinyl to.
