It's a "XA1541" cable I made to hook up a Commodore 64 floppy drive to a modern PC, I checked out some of your youtube clips (cool stuff) from your link you've got on you're posts... you sound like the guy that did a few video's on how to use the "Starcommander" app for it.... Sorry, my mistake
As for the corner you're talking about.... I fired up my Daytona USA test bench setup and had a few goes on "expert"... I do pretty much like "2Huwman" posted... (nice walkthrough, by the way)...
...but if you do "hook it in" too tight when you pick 2nd... and start to spin... you can always just "go with it", (turn into it, then "catch" it), and pull off a 360 spin and keep going in the right direction.. (not that it's ideal for lap time and track position, but...)... it's one of the few corners you can get away with it just for a bit of fun
Cheers guys.
