I second that.  Are there a lot of plot twists?  Who doesn't love a good plot twist.  Hey, pack the book with a free BYOAC T-shirt, and it'll be on the Bestseller lists for sure!  Can't wait to get my hands on a copy so that I can finally figure out how to stop hacking my way through these projects!  ;D

Congrats Saint!!!  This book is going to be a "Huge" hit and your hard work will be rewarded.  I think I should buy stock in Home Depot and a few other home stores around the release date.  I feel a shortage of MDF and 1 1/8 drill bits may be coming from the new batch of folks who are going to read the book and build a cabinet.

BTW - I'm going to buy 2 copies.  One for home, and the second will be on the desk of my day job and will be the reminder of where my spare time is best spent....

Good Luck and I hope to see a follow-up book.

Charlie
The Flight Yoke Release date is September 10, 2005.

HURRAY FOR SAINT THE AUTHOR! Get your press release ready for EGM, Next Gen, Wired, TechTV.....

I'm really happy for you, it must be a bit like becoming a father. God knows that must have been an extraordinary amount of work. How great to not only become a published author, but to do so with a work that will be of such help and meaning to so MANY people.  Of course, you'll have wives and girlfriends the world over cursing your name!  ;)

Kudos and congrats!!  :) :) :) :)

Well, I already caught you last night as the news was breaking, but I thought I'd say congrats again.

I'm very proud to be at least a small part of the community that you built for the past 5 years (Under various names.. Intensify/Barcade/NipsMG).  I think what you've done here is amazing, and I'm ecstatic that this came about because of it.

I am definitely going to buy a copy.  :-)  If I send it to you will you autograph it for me? ;D

Congrats again!

Well done saint for seeing a gap in the market and filling it. I'm sure this book will prove an extremely useful resource for so many people. I imagine that ,come Christmas time, your book will be in many an ageing teenagers' stocking!

Look forward to it's publication and will be ordering a copy as soon as it's available in the UK. I'll be sure to post a good write up for you on Amazon (unless it's a pile of cack! ;) )

Enjoy the run up to it's release and the well deserved holiday afterward.

I might pick up a copy just to have around, being a coffee book lover. Glad to see someone is producing a book about our hobby with taste and a true passion for the hobby.

Hope it works out for you... I can't imagine it wont.  People often pay 40+ bucks on designs... Getting a book first should help.

I really hope that you've captured Howard's essence in there somehow. ( I think an "Official Howard Quote" at the bottom of every page would do it)

Also looking forward to seeing your mighty pectorals on the author bio page.   :o

Dang, I missed that opportunity!  Unfortunately, due to a copyright dispute (apparently there's some governor in California who claims he looks like me?), my image won't be on the book :)

Congratulations Saint! That's so awesome.

I think it's a testament to your writing and market breadth of the BYOAC market/interest that you could get a book published  (did that come out right? It's meant to be a compliment)

It really is amazing and I wish you many reprints and royalties.

Are you doing any promotion, circuit riders, talk shows??  I bet for sure you could hawk that book on TechTV screensavers segment!

In some weird way I feel proud of your accomplishment, Saint... Good Job!

Yes ,i will say congrats too :) I'm sure it will do well!
My only question is, who the heck designed the cover???  I'm sorry, but couldn't something a little more colorful and arcade looking have been designed? Hell, im no graphic artist, but surely someone could have come up with something better then a golden cover.
I'm sure there are alot of people here in the forums who would have helped out with that one as there seems to be a TON of talented people here.   What does everyone else think about the cover?  Do you think it should be something more colorful?
Just my oppinion and hope not to offend anyone, but that was the first thing that popped into my mind when i saw the cover.  It just doesn't look like something that would catch my eye in a book store.

The cover is just a mockup. The golden tone I believe is set in stone, and follows the theme of the other books inthe series. However, the front graphics and text are only there as placeholders until the real cover is ready.

Hmm,  what other books are in the series? I didn't realise i guess that this book was part of a series.   Its good that the picture isn't part of the real cover OYE, that would suck lol.

Congrats Saint.  Without your site I never would have built my machine and lost all that time at work researching.  I'll be buying a copy as soon as it's released.

Wow ... this is really great news.

Don't know that I can add anything that hasn't already been said ...

I am proud to be involved with this hobby and the great group of guys that participate in the boards here at BYOAC - my guess is that none of this would be possible without the hard work of Saint.

Congrats, man. I hope you make a billion dollars, quit your day job, and spend all your free time taking this hobby to the "next" level - whatever that might be.  ;D
