You control Zeke the zookeeper who must rescue his girlfriend Zelda from the Zoo. There are four levels or "adventures". Each level has its own task such as trapping the animals in the zoo, jumping ledges up the screen and jumping animals to earn a bonus keeper.

After a few games, I can already tell that the ---That which is odiferous and causeth plants to grow--- controls and the lousy jump mechanics will drive me crazy.

Glad to hear it!

Also, try to get to the top at the coconut boards as quickly as possible.  You definitely don't want to lose a life on that board when you can take a bigger gamble jumping animals later for big points, and if you die then, well at least it was worth it...

I know what you mean. However, my frustration levels are in direct correlation to my time spent jumping through/around corners. I've started to do better by avoiding that, along with Del's advice. That last game, I managed a good game, plus ONE 120,000 point jump.

Thanks for posting this.  I was shocked to see I've been playing this "wrong" for years.  Building brick walls is not the path to points.

Great video too.  The production values are good and the length was just right.  I don't watch a lot of Youtube but I plan to watch some more from your channel.

I ended up taking my MAME rig apart in an attempt to finally get the project finished and did not get it put back together so I wasn't able to improve my score.

Suggestion for next game:  Metrocross

Fun little game (quite rare and obscure).  It's emulated perfectly in MAME and has a lot of strategy and fun to it.  I played it last year at Zapcon 5 at my buddy Brien's house.  Here's some gameplay footage where he shows how to play and some tips.
