Automating the Thrustmaster T300RS Wheel
« on: April 08, 2018, 02:48:45 pm »
I've been looking into building a racing cab a lot lately and have been trying to do as much research as possible (big shoutout to our moderator BadMouth). To get this process started I wanted to go ahead and order a wheel and start messing around with the configuration.

The wheel I'm looking at is the Thrustmaster T300RS with T3PA-Pro Pedals and TH8A Shifter.

I was just about to click purchase when I realized Thrustmasters software seems to leave a lot to be desired.

A big concern of mine if automating as much of the process as possible. Once I enter my front-end, I don't want to have to keep exiting to muck around with wheel configs. So my biggest question is, if I go with the Thrustmaster am I doomed to configure the degree of wheel rotation manually on per-game or per-system basis each time I want to play a game?

I did come across this piece of software that is essentially a profiler for the T500 but I don't know if it would work with the T300RS and it doesn't look like the software is being supported anymore. I know the T300RS is essentially an updated version of the T500 so I'm hoping it would work but there's no way for me to know without actually purchasing the wheel and trying myself.

Anyone here have a T300RS and feel like testing it out? Or if anyone has any suggestions they'd be much appreciated. I've come across several forum posts of people who use the T300RS but haven't been able to find anything about automation.

Man, that hardware is badass! Pricey, but looks like great quality. Did you end up buying?
