I've actually got a Vindicators converted to a Superman... kinda-sorta donated it to a church like 10 years ago... they're probably ready for me to take it back.
I hope you used "eBay prices" when valuing it for your tax deduction.
Nice classic lines and profile, colorful art that isn’t garish it busy... really nice job you did there!

A cabinet doesn’t need to scream “OMG! BIDEO GAMEZ!!!”
Coin doors are pointless on home machines.

If you don’t have a coin door, you’ve got a piece of furniture that plays video games.
I don’t know your location, but here’s a nice over/under coin door. If you’re local, you could score a great deal on it:https://m.ebay.com/itm/Coin-Controls-over-under-Coin-Door/282900661949?hash=item41de3186bd:g:W~kAAOSwyHRauQPT
I just want to repeat how much I like this machine. No unnecessary blinky buttons. That being said, get a coin door.

I've got a coin door off an Arachnid Super Six you can have for free if you get to Houston. Would have to weigh it to get a shipping estimate....
I will kick in for half the shipping.

I’d be more than happy to throw in a few bucks too. That’s what this hobby is about
We grow on you. Like a fungus. You are going to wake up one day and say "Hey, I would like a cab with a CRT monitor in it."Kiss you discretionary income goodbye.
Oh its not over. Just pray you don't wake up bent over Yotsuya's Dresser Kong arcade machine.
No man, you will get one if you want one!
Well, turns out I have the door but I don’t have the frame or the hinge. This would be more trouble than it's worth to install. Someone else cough one up.
Yeah, turned out I basically stripped everything out of that cabinet that was part of the wiring harness and junked the rest. Really need to throw all that garbage away.
How close is this to original?
Well, I love it dude. I’m a huge Superman fan myself and have been looking for a cab for years. Head over to KLOV, there is a guy there selling large arcade banners and he has a Superman one, it’s pretty badass.

Christopher Reeve or GTFO
Just wanted to throw in my two cents:Nice build man! Really nice. You may as well go ahead and face the facts though, you will be building more.
It could also lead as a gateway to collecting dedicated machines. I had all these multi game ideas in mind when I started, but I find much more joy restoring dedicated cabinets now.

I had all these multi game ideas in mind when I started, but I find much more joy restoring dedicated cabinets now. This!I'm on the other side - dozens of machines over the years. I owned a few dedicated but always went back to emulation. Too many weird issues with real cabinets to justify the differences. Great looking machine. If I were to change 1 thing, it would be the hardware to mount the joysticks. Use some black carriage bolts. You could also buy some black carriage bolts at home depot and grind off the names, and spray paint black. Minor thing.
and on a practical side of carriage bolts, you can be rubbing the bottom of your hand against them while playing. It is going to be noticeable then. Depending on the size you need, you can often get ones without manufacturers stamps on the end, and some of the arcade supply vendors carry them.

now that you mentioned that: red should be on the left
Yeah, Blue to the left on a Superman!
