K7000 issues
« on: March 19, 2018, 03:02:47 am »
I'm having issues with my K7000 monitor, where I can't get anything on it.

When I power the monitor on by its self it looks like this

When I have a game connected and on it looks like this

Video to show what it looks like.

I tested two boards that I know that work, and two different JAMMA harnesses. One new, and one from a Golden Tee that also works. Any ideas?

it could be just focus wire broken off in crt socket
could be broken focus pin on tube

can you see some movement is the picture?

Yes. If I run Street Fighter EX, I can see when the intro runs. But it's still a black-ish screen. The video I linked too is what I recorded from my phone and shows what happens when the game runs.

so either the focus wire is broken off in the crt socket or the focus pin has broken off the crt itself
slight possibility of flyback failure

Focus wire has continuity and is connected at bother ends. The pins connecting the flyback are all good, and the neck is also good. So I’m thinking the fly back died.  :'(

could be a bad crt socket- focus pin not contacting the socket correctly- could be flyback
intrigued to know how you proved continuity on the focus as it terminates in a sealed unit( the flyback)
