PS4/RPi3 hooked into one
« on: March 07, 2018, 09:55:29 pm »
Looking for good suggestions on how to connect my PS4 and RPi3 to a custom 2 player arcade control panel. Something with good response time.

Ideas?

Thanks!

How many PS4 games do you have that don't have analog controls?
Acceptance of Zen philosophy is marred slightly by the nagging thought that if all things are interconnected, then all things must be in some way involved with Pauly Shore.

On the PS4 I'm looking to play stuff like SF, MK X etc. with the arcade controls. instead of the PS4 controller. But also have the ability to flip over to my RPi3 and play those games with the same arcade controller.

I'm pretty sure this would be compatible with the RPi as well, just get a usb switch and switch between the PS4 and RPi.

Or what might be cheaper is to get a couple generic wired PS4 pads and hack them.

Another option would be a JTAGed Xbox 360.  You can run MAME on it and the system has nice versions of Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat, albeit not the latest ones.

As with the other thread.  Cronus Max dongle for the PS4 and USB for the Pi and maybe an USB hub with a switch?

You can get a cheap Hori knock off but I tried this with my PS4 and it sucked.  Cronus pretty much works with everything with the new firmware.
