Mame interface resolution
« on: March 02, 2018, 05:01:08 am »
Hello,

I have a nice Sega Blast with philips 29'' consumer CRT TV.
I have decided to switch to GroovyMame as I am more than satisfied with the picture quality and the very low input latency I could get out of tweaking parameters.
So I modify the cabinet and replaced the original power supply and wiring by a simple PC with Jamma USB card

ArcadeOSD tool gave me the ability to configure the picture modelines (H size, H position ...) and I am able to display the picture out of some distorded compressed part (sides) of my CRT TV, picture is perfect now, thanks to that tool!
That was the thing that made me switch the sega blast to emulation

I have decided to set precisely resolution/modelines and very precise frequencies (thanks to super resolution) for each games in their dedicated .ini file, so that Mame will switch to these.
I think it is a very good way to have saved modelines parameter somewhere.

My only concern is that when Mame gets the resolution/modeline of a game in its dedicated .ini file, and when I stop the game and get back to the selection menu of Mame, the resolution does not switch back, Mame keeps the game resolution.

Same remark for volume, seems Mame keeps the dedicated .ini game parameter and does not switch back to the initial parameter
Is there a .ini for Mame ui, that Mame could read and apply each time it switches back??

Thanks!!!

Hi faybiens,

I'm afraid that can't be done currently. The ui menu is a special MAME driver called the "empty" driver, but as long as I see it has not an specific ini assigned (i.e. empty.ini does not work).
Important note: posts reporting GM issues without a log will be IGNORED.
Steps to create a log:
 - From command line, run: groovymame.exe -v romname >romname.txt
 - Attach resulting romname.txt file to your post, instead of pasting it.
