Thrustmaster wheel uncalibrated on boot up

Using the thrustmaster Ferrari wheel, have a problem where every time I start up the computer my wheel is uncalibrated and I have to recalibrate using windows Joystick controller option in control panel. Is it the wheel, or Windows 7? Any one else having this issue? Thinking about plunking down on the Logitech wheels but not if the calibration is a constant issue. Thanks for your help!
