Anyone familiar with GAME-EX Arcade edition?
« on: February 20, 2018, 09:15:35 am »
I've searched for this solution, with no avail, so maybe someone here knows?

I'm trying out gameex arcade edition, and love it.  Much slicker than the version i was using. Here's the problem:

It seems that a "backspace" key is specifically needed.  As far as i can tell, there is no alternative to get back to the main menu.  Standard gameex has a small green home icon, as well as a side menu to get back to the game list, but apparently there is nothing here?

I'm pretty annoyed, as how can a front end made to look better on arcade cabs require a key on the the keyboard that isn't standard on the major encoders?  :soapbox:

EDIT: I should probably also mention what i have tried:
There aren't the same customization options as the regular edition, so I don't see any options to add menu options.
I have disabled the "ESC exits gameex" option, and was hoping that I could use ESC to go back, but that doesn't seem to be an option, either.

Not sure what you mean exactly. In MAME I map cancel UI to the start button on my gamepad so then it closes MAME and goes back to GameEX Arcade edition so it's ready to have another game picked.

Run the Setup Wizard of GameEX AE and you can use joystick control.

Sorry if i wasn't clear.  I'm not speaking about exiting a game being played, i'm only speaking of navigating the menus. And doing so with my arcade CP.

I can select menu options, and I can select games to play, but I cannot go backwards in the menus unless i haul out the keyboard and press the backspace key.  And there's no other options to move to other menus, only the backspace key.

I hope thats more clear.  If not, i'll post some pics later tonight.

One bump for attention.
