Revamping cab PC
« on: January 29, 2018, 09:28:04 am »
Hey guys. Looking to upgrade my cab PC.

I'm eyeing the new i3 8350k which seems like a very good price to performance ratio. Unlocked 4 cores, base processor frequency of 4.0 ghz and the reviews have shown they OC easily for 170 beans.

So with this build I want to finally be able to add Gradius IV, GL, Blitz, Prop Cycle, etc and I also want to be able to run a very high frame delay (10 or more) on drivers with input lag issues (Galaga '88, Mars Matrix, etc.) this eats up CPU cycles a lot as I'll be using GM.

Has anyone purchased coffee lake cpu's yet? Would this be enough to run the the things I want?

Thanks

NVM...was pointed to mame benchmark page by folksnover at mameworld. The i3 should be plenty powerful.
