Rowe Ami R87 carousel not rotating smoothly
« on: January 21, 2018, 04:31:52 pm »
I have recently purchased a Rowe ami R87 and it has been working fine for about week
Now all of sudden it doesn't always choose the correct record stops 1 before or 1 after
The carousel doesn't turn smoothly it sort of staggers round and sometimes stops but you can
Hear the motor still going any advice on resolving the problem or on what it could be would be great ?

Replace the motor ?  Optical sensor out of alignment ?

I have had a look and saw the sprag wheel isn't lined up (picture)
Is there an adjustment screw or is it case of remove complete
Unit and fix back in place

Sprag wheel adjustments are spelled out in detail in the Field Service Manual which should be inside the blue plastic manual pouch inside the jukebox.

Looks like the gear is all chewed up and needs to be replaced.

Hello p.mortiboys,

You will need to purchase a new sragwheel and the four rubber bushes (called stem bushing) I note that someone has lubed the srag wheel at some time (or itmay have droped down from the gripper bow).
The gripper bow and the spragwheel assembly should never be lubricated (other the trunion casting pivot sockets with high melting point grease.

Clean off all of the dirt and grease that is on the basket drive wheel, if this or the opto switch is dirty it affects selections.

You will have to drop the sprag assembly 4-07219-01 to get to the spragwheel.

Regards
Alan
