Yay! What a wonderful idea! Let's go kill lots of trees and use lots of chemicals to produce toys for spoiled brats that will be destroyed within minutes (the toys, not the brats)!
1. Trees are a renewable resource. We can kill all the trees we want without regret so long as we plant more.
2. Yes, because the few "chemicals" used to make glue and dye are so bad compared to the hundreds of legitimately toxic chemicals in your average child's electronic toy.
3. The cardboard is 100% recyclable, and since you don't throw away the joycons, there isn't any e-waste either. Again, compare that to your average child's electronic toy.
4. Also cardboard is very light, so the carbon footprint in regards to shipping is also going to be relatively low.
Next time think a little before you accuse a product of being bad for the environment please. It is a legitimate crisis so I take that sort of thing very seriously.
I would hate being some of you guys.... you've all grown up into boring adults with no sense of whimsy. You've also become too narrow minded to get that creativity like this will lead to products that are targeted to us as well. Vigo gets it, as does yots. I find it particularly sad that somebody that works in the game industry doesn't get it.
