this would likely be de-cased anyways. at least I would anyway. who needs 3 inches of plastic?
Exactly my though and if I have to dig out the router a bit that is fine too!
and you know what @ JDFan
you have done nothing but give me grief throughout this entire thread.
If you can't provide any useful information quite being a troll
so kindly move along now
No problem - Was just trying to let you know that we can't really help unless you provide information - IF you read your first post the only thing you ask is :
I have began to build my 1st Bartop Arcade I would say I am 3/4 the way done. I am stumped as what to use as a monitor
as the size needs to be 9 1/2 inches X 9 1/2 inches It can be a little smaller but this is as big of a screen as it can accommodate.
After looking around I am stumped as I can't seem to find anything that will fit!
So you ask about a monitor that is around 9.5" - No details on what type of connection is needed - no details on what system is in place for it to connect to - so the answers you get are pretty much telling you that is why you need to plan the build before cutting the wood - then you get a link to a monitor that might work but As I mention in my next post the one linked is a scam seller designed to get your personal info and never ship a product so I mention that you should be Wary of ordering from a listing selling a $75 - $100 product for $11 !
THen you reply with a few pics of the build with a ruler at an angle that is hard to tell the exact dimensions from and mention :
I would really like a laptop/ netbook option. I really wanted this build to be PC based and a Already assembled PC
would simplify things
First time you mention wanting a prebuilt full system not just a monitor that will fit - So how were we supposed to know to suggest a $100 - $200 netbook or similar when all you originally wanted was a Monitor that would fit your 9.5" space. ( Are we supposed to read your mind and realize you don't have any of the build parts yet and do not have everything in place except the monitor - Guess that explains why you did not give info on what connector type you need on the monitor since you don't have the parts yet - but we don't know that so AGAIN hard to provide help without info.
At which Point I suggested it might be better and much cheaper in the long run to just scrap what you have ( A few $ worth of MDF) and get the parts together and then start building rather than having to try and source parts to fit.
You then reply that you don't want to do that as you had a specific size in mind for the build but still provide no info on what you already have and what you still do not have - so we are still left not knowing what type of budget for parts you have or what exactly you are looking for (Again we can't read your mind so can't help without INFO ! )
At which point 2 days into the thread you finally start to provide a small amount of info saying you don't want to use a pi and that you would like a 4:3 or 16:9 monitor but that will depend on which Laptop/netbook you find ( Again Are we suggesting monitors still or should we be suggesting full systems including a monitor ? )
Then you post you have found something to use and when I notice the dimensions are about an Inch over what you had mentioned needing so may not be useable - you decide I'm trolling ( Again we aren't mind readers and can only go byt the limited info you are providing so perhaps the help you are getting is not useful because the info you are providing is not useful ! )
Good luck with your build and hopefully it will all work out and you are able to fit everything into the build you have started without spending excessively just because you want to stick with it no matter what.
