Alien Vs Predator is probably the best one.

Overall, yeah.  Weapons pick ups and drops are well balanced, guns are a part of the game with an understandable limitation. I also like the 2 DnD games but AvP is more fun. only thing AvP is missing, is a 4th player.

Shout out to the Punisher too for being awesome.

Don't ask me why but I love this type of game.  The whole FF, TMNT, XMen, yadda yadda.  Just found out the other day they made one that was based on Alien vs Predator.  Mind numbing, side scrolling violence.

Says a LOT about you now. Makes sense.

Punisher is another one I need to knock off my list.  Drunk friend hit the EXIT button my control panel 2/3s of the way through.   :P

You deserve that for having an EXIT button on your control panel. ;D

Sailor Moon was always broken at my arcade growing up.  I had to resort to The Simpsons.

Played through Punisher while pumping my little legs on an exercise bike. I'd peg it top of mid tier in the genre. Too many weapons flopping around everywhere but it's fun.  Craps all over Spider-Man.

Have you tried C.O.W. boys of Moo Mesa yet?   Very underappreciated.  Beat em ups are probably my favorite genre as far as arcade games go.  I played through Night Slashers the other day.... fairly terrible, but getting to see all the monsters and stuff was fun.

So I found a colecovision controller at goodwill today and I managed to save (buy) it before they threw it out.  I don't even have a colecovision, but saving it made my day.  It's the little things I guess.  I'll probably rig up an Arduino to make it work on the pc.

I have a Wild West Cowboys of Moo Mesa PCB in my Candy Cab right now. I really like it. It is eventually going into a proper 4 player cab once I get around to fixing the cab up pretty. My candy cab will house fighting games eventually.

I like Moo Mesa. And Bucky O Hare, while we’re at it.

But my favourite wild and wacky beat-em-up has got to be Ninja Baseball Batman. Great art style, very different from all others of that genre.

Yeah I always forget about that one for some reason.  It gets pretty nuts fairly quickly in terms of the art style and character designs.

For sure, its definitely top of the mid tier, but you can tell it was the basis for the gun play for AvP.
Simpsons gets flack for being such a weird IP to use for a beat em up, but the 2 player team up mechanic is really well done even if inflating balloons between rounds is silly.
Denjin Makai series has more special moves than street fighter and a lot of odd humor.
Revenge of Death Adder is the best Golden Axe by far and while a genesis exclusive, I *really REALLY* like Cyborg Justice.  You can rip parts off of your opponent and put them on your robot.

That’s not a brawler.

But, which Sunset Riders version is better the Arcade, or SNES?

I only ask because the port of Turtles in Time is vastly superior to its arcade counterpart.

btw., Nintendo just announced a Capcom beat-em-up bundle to be released on Switch sometime this year (i think) on the Nintendo Direct.. It has 7 games, ranging from Knights of the Round to Final Fight, they also mentioned Battle Circuit will be on it (first time it's been ever ported?).

The emulation shader looked not like ass, but I'd want to see it live before passing judgement.

Eh by that logic neither is Moo Mesa....

Most people seem to think the SNES version is, again, the superior port.  I don't have a dog in this fight though so I couldn't tell you from personal experience.

Nice.  I give him massive credit for Pretty Hate Machine but don't really care for most of his other stuff.  I think that album he produced for Marilyn Manson is the best one either of them have done.

I saw NIN in college at U of I. He had some freak show open for him. It was a great performance by NIN. I agree with PBJ. I am really tired of hearing "closer" every time NIN is mentioned. Pretty Hate Machine is where my interest starts and ends.

So this one was weird. I remember not playing it in my college food court arcade because I was afraid a girl would see me playing it. Sure enough my wife wanders out and was intrigued enough to watch me play through a few stages. Some things I liked, some I didn't. Worth playing.

Well if you haven't cleaned out the Konami beat-em-up section then it's time to fire up Bucky O' Hare.  It came out the same year, very similar mechanics, ect.

After what seems like an eternity It's time for my annual holiday,  also known by the wife as the Annual Disney pilgrimage. Starting today I have 1 month off of work. Fly out to Orlando tomorrow morning at some stupidly early time. All the packing is done, Shorts and T shirts all the way for the next 3 weeks.  It's a shame that DisneyQuest is gone but I guess I'll go to Dave and Busters and see what the latest rail gunners are :)

Damn bro thats harsh.  I had a good time when I took my daughter to Disney World last year.  I don't do good in crowds and expected to be on edge the whole time but it was fun.  Next time I am getting the wrist bands.  We could only fast track three attractions at a time.

I was never a Disney fan. My kids aren't Disney fans. I guess that could be part of the problem. My favorite part was hanging out in the campgrounds. I had a cabin and my parents had their RV. The kids were little and they loved the RV. My wife and I had the cabin mostly to ourselves. We met some other people and we grilled out every night.

I took my kids to Universal a couple years ago and we had a great time. They were 15 and 18 at the time. We stayed at the Hard Rock. Their system for early ride entry is way better than that fast track Disney had at the time. At Universal we waltzed onto rides and attractions with little wait time and we didn't have to strategically plan out our day. Disney may have changed their system by now. The water park at Universal was a waste of time. Too much waiting around. For some reason they had a different system than the other 2 Universal parks. We left after an hour.

I am glad you had fun at Disney. Just because I didn't like it, that doesn't mean I don't want anyone else to like it. My wife loved it.

What he said.  Went to Disney and Universal in my teenage years..... Universal, while very tame was fun.... Disney seemed to be geared towards toddlers and perpetual 8 year olds.  Keep in mind I was very much a Disney fan at the time and I still found it underwhelming.

That being said, just skip them both and go to Cedar Point.  They have actual rides in their park ass opposed to infinate stage shows and have some of the best coasters on the planet.

Yeah.  I have to veto Cedar Point.  Probably because I went too many times growing up.  Waiting in long lines in the heat for little pay out?  Narp.

Ok how about Busch Gardens?  They have a good park as well.  tbh though I can't think of a single good park that doesn't have crazy long lines, Disney included.

Used to enjoy going to Fiesta Texas during the offseason.  No lines and the workers were so damn stoned you could basically do anything.  Had a season pass for awhile and was always getting cheap/free tickets.  Got to be that you'd recognize the performers and go, "this is the third year in a row I've seen that blond sing boogie woogie santa claus for minimum wage..."  Anyway, nice diversion for 2 or 3 hours and it was only about a 20 minute drive.

Sea World, though, meh.  The last time I went, I got to listen to how killer whales have a range in nature of thousands of miles while I watched one swim around in circles in a tiny swimming pool.  That was it for me.  Blackfish is a great documentary if you like listening to crazy, attractive people talk.

Houston.. well... AstroWorld is now a parking lot for the Houston rodeo.  And we've got some scammer that's been raising money for "Dinosaur Land" for at least 20 years.

EDIT: The dinosaur scam is still going....  :lol
