I can't tell if I like the new art style of the Wonder Boy remake or the old one better from what I've seen in the pics. For some reason the new style reminds me of those "story" games that have beautifully drawn scenes, but don't really involve actual gameplay.

For the most part, the new art works well.  You can toggle back and forth to the old sprites instantly in game, which I find myself doing periodically to make sure I'm not overlooking something.  The original game holds up very well, IMO, and the remake gives you some gentle hints by providing more info about the armor/weapons and their respective abilities.  This must have been in the manual originally because this is one I actually beat back in the day.

Very chuffed to have scored this 27" CRT TV off of the curbside.  I'm working towards the "PBJ Dumpster Diver" award.  I know there is no such award, but there should be  8)  It has RGB component input into which I fed it some test video.

So 27" is at the limits of the largest equivalent arcade monitors ever made I believe.  This unit has a clean sharp image, although if I'm picky there are some convergence errors towards the outer edges.  I ran a DVD THX test calibration video to see more clearly.  You can see some warping of the image in some areas:

edge convergence errors

Is it difficult to tweak these CRTs for picture symmetry and convergence?  I have plans for this CRT into a future project.

Finally got my favorite Pearl Jam poster framed.  I'm quite pleased.

I bought the poster as the show on May 21, 2010 at MSG (notice the high score) and the setlist was awesome.  Coincidentally my youngest daughter was born on the same day 2 years later so the poster has even more meaning to us.  Looks great in the basement with some other concert posters and arcade cabs.

Nice framing and matting on both of those. Did you do it yourself or have it done?
