Pandora's Box and Zero Delay encoders with Sanwa Joysticks
« on: January 03, 2018, 05:36:32 pm »
Hi everyone,

I recently purchased a Pandora's Box Multigame board, and I guess I purchased the wrong joysticks for it, I see that Pandora's box uses a Jamma harness, where the button functions need to go to the regular  arcade switches. The problem is that my Sanway Joysticks do not have the regular switches, they have a 5 pin wire that goes connected right to the zero delay encoder.

is it impossible to use Sanwa joysticks with a Pandora's box?

attached are images of what I purchased

Thanks!

You could still use them but you would have to splice them onto the normal Jamma harmess.

Not sure where the ZD comes in??

Thanks for replying, just not sure how I would wire to Jamma, that came with the sanwa joystick is just one cable with the pin connector, now sure I can strip and splice to Jamma, but I will try to get more info on it and also see who else replies, thanks again!!

Thats exactly what you do.

Cut and strip each wire then splice it to the respective U,D,L,R and Ground wires of the Jamma Harness.

But isn't the Sanwa 5 pin cable 5 cables? how do I know which ones are up, down, left and right? what about the 5th cable? I'm just asking without opening the cable yet :)

thanks again
