It's a new Netflix exclusive film starring Will Smith. It borrows heavily from the old "Alien Nation" film/tv show. Basically it's a modern cop film set in LA with Orcs and Elves and various other LOTR mythos. It's a bit heavy-handed with the whole race-relations morality stuff, but the sentiment is right at least. The story is kind of basic and predictable, but there is some fantastic world-building going on.... so much so that I think they could make a tv show out of it... or at least a few more films. The acting is good as are the sfx. Give it a watch. |
