New Guy in town

Whats up cats & kittens!

New guy in town. I hail from the south-eastern USA. Currently I own a midway MK1 cab that I'm working on partially restoring, and temporarily converting into a Mame cab until I can acquire MK2, MK3, UMK3 and MK4 to put in the cab with a dedicated jamma switch. I've also got a 4 player dedicated X-men that I'm trying to fix. The monitor keeps blowing caps. The last owner said he rewired it and couldn't ever get it working again. So yeah.

I grew up in the arcades. Not as far as back as some of you I'm sure. But from the mid 80's to early 2000's at least before they started dying off.

My first arcade project was building a MK replica cab with my father. It had a hotrod 2 player stick and 25" sony television I bought from a thrift shop. Wired it all up with an Ipac to make the coin doors work. It was ruined during transport to a friends place for a party. I gave up on arcade stuff for a while, then started messing around with building supergun consoles with a friend.

In any case. I hope to get some knowledge, make some friends, and restore / work on some cabs.

Here some pics of the cabs as they are so far. The X-men I just want to get running properly.
The Mortal Kombat I'm in the process of stripping and getting ready to re-wire. I'm going to mame-ify it for now. I'll make a post for it in the projects forum.

Cool.

Just a note for future, host your pics on here.
Had allot of project pics etc disappear from hosting sites and it destroys the thread.

go to the project section. click the thread called "not a project, put your pictures here" or something of that ilk.
reply to the topic and attach your pictures.
If you're replying to a troll you are part of the problem.
I also need to follow this advice. Ignore or report, don't reply.

There is a dedicated picture thread "not a project" licated under project announcements. You make a post and upload the attachments. The you can copy the link of the attached image and when typing a post, tap on the mona lisa and paste the link in the middle. Or you can just use the attatchments in a thread you are posting but all the images will show up at the bottom of the post
