Game runs fine in Mame64, black screen in Maximus Arcade

Hello everyone.  I'm running Mame64 0.185 with MA 2.10 on Windows7.  Mostly everything is working fine thanks to all the help I've found on these forums.  There is a specific issue I cannot seem to solve.  Most games run 100% fine.  Some games, more specifically, Soul Caliber run 100% correctly if I run the game from Mame64.  When I try to run the game from Maximus Arcade it just goes to a black screen.  It never loads and never kicks me back to the MA game selection screen.

Does anyone have any ideas what this could be for a specific game?

Just posting a follow up in case anyone else come across this and it helps them.  I downloaded a different version of the SC rom and that one is both working in Mame64 and in Maximus Arcade.  I still don't understand how this happens but I have the game working now.
