Dixit is a great game for general audiences without feeling 'dumbed down' for younger audiences. Rules-wise it's quite simple, but it makes good use of imagination and consequently requires some thought. I've played it both with just adults as well as mixed groups of kids and adults, and everyone has always enjoyed it. |

We play Betrayal at House on the Hill every other weekend. Its a fun RPG type with a spooky twist at every end. |

These days it's Clue and Battleship with my ten-year-old. We kinda-sorta play an RPG, but we create new rules for each game. We use the different-sided dice and use the idea of variable chances of success based on the particulars of a situation, but she's never seen an RPG reference manual, and wouldn't know what D&D or RPG stands for. We just call it the story-telling game. |
