Ugggh. I hate commercials. Good thing I can just skip crappy Youtube commercials disguised as "sharing with the community".
You definitely can. Yes, the video does mention my business. It's meant for new viewers, and not necessarily for the experienced person. This is where communities spring from. Not every community is full of experts as soon as they log in. Sometimes, and I'd hazard to say most times, it's the first timer looking for info.
If you just wanted to regurgitate information that you probably learned here in the first place then don't slap you Store URL and logo into the "videos".
It is true that some of the things I've learned have been from here, as well as other forums. That certainly doesn't minimize the impact of being able to find all of the information, all in once place. And not everybody visits forums to find the info, especially given the
*cough, cough* toxic environment that they sometimes experience.
After four years, I've learned some things on my own - as we all do - that are not attributed to the contributors on various forums and arcade enthusiasts. I've created some methods on my own as well, from experience and time, and from the mistakes that we all make, that I feel can improve on existing processes and help people along.
I figured I would at least watch the commercial before I trashed it. It is worse than I thought. The hyperbole is hilarious. A worldwide phenomenon?
It's not? I'm a member of various forums in the UK, and most - if not all - of my parts come from overseas. I've watched videos of the arcades that still exist in Japan. I think it may be a bit shortsighted if we don't see it as a worldwide phenomena.
Overall, you can either like it, or hate it. I definitely appreciate that you watched it, I also appreciate your feedback.
