Marquee art question
« on: October 22, 2017, 10:14:15 pm »
I'm getting ready to order marquee artwork, and not sure what the best size to specify.  The area of my marquee is 27" wide, and 5.25" tall (the visible area that is between the two boards and marquee retainers).  I'm planning to sandwich the artwork between two thin pieces of acrylic/plexi, which will be ~6.75" tall, so is it reasonable to get artwork made that is the height of the visible area and then tape, or otherwise secure, it to the backside piece of acrylic?

Was planning to order a marquee from http://arcademarquee.com/, what other good sources are out there?

Thanks,
Eric

No. Just get it the same size as your acrylic. You don't want to see tape and you don't want to see what's behind the marquee and at this stage of your build why would you skimp on something that can speak to the quality of your build and that's front and center?

Do it right and be happy with it or do it wrong and always wonder how it would have turned out if you did it right.

Yes, when you back light it, the tape will show for sure.  Trust us on this.

Just get it the actual size of the opening.  Crop your artwork in your art program to accommodate the marquee brackets.

Ditto what these guys said.  That's the focus of your machine.  Do it right.

If you have a copy of the artwork I'd be happy to take a look.
