It has a redemption "option". This is going to suck. Hard.

I just saw that and I'm imagining that the regular play experience is going to be considerably short-handed.

Why the hell would anyone have redemption on this sort of game!? *confused.com*

The only way to generate income in an arcade is to have games with super short game play. The game takes your quarter and spits out worthless tickets. You take the worthless tickets that you spent 10 dollars to accumulate and you get a plastic spider ring and a couple of tootsie rolls. Hooray for progress.

'Redemption' is a required password for any machine to get arcade space these days, it seems. Just glad I was a kid in the 80's and not today...

Most interesting. I'll have to keep an eye out at my local Dave & Busters to see if they get this in.

Enh. If it’s like on the updated classics, this is a scam to get you to put more quarters in. Not that the original wasn’t in the same vein.

To me, TMNT is one of those games that was cool as a kid, but now that I “get it”, I wouldn’t want in my collection at all.

I imagine it will be flashy and loud, with shallow gameplay.  I'd be curious to try it out once, just to see the game mechanics.  Turtles in Time was a big improvement over the original TMNT: The Arcade Game, so hopefully they added new moves and such.  Maybe even different styles of play for each turtle?  One can dream..

I personally see it as quite dated in concept, and I have never really cared for fighting games. However, any self respecting kid, is going to play it, and play it a lot, so get out your dollars parents, and could see this as quite the investment..... As for not wanting it in your collection Yots, that seems a bit shortsighted, Is a collection  really ever yours?...."Bucky" my mechanical horse would be a good example of this, Jennifer for obvious reasons cant ride it, dangerous as all getout for kids, its older than most people on this forum, and will most likely outlive you and me combined, yet there he sits just watching, and waiting.

Is my collection “mine”? Yes. Absolutely. I don’t buy and keep games for anyone other than me.

I get redemption, but not on a arcade fighter game!

This and Injustice as well.

I've been so wanting to say that redemption games have been acting as nothing short of a cancer in this industry for a long time and now that it's become the standard, it even has an effect on titles that otherwise should be full fledged video games meant for the real gaming audience.

Regarding the state of the industry...  this is good for business, but is ABSOLUTELY HORRIFIC for the rest of us.

Meh, Raw Thrills. As much as I love Eugene Jarvis for Robotron and the classic Williams titles, what has his new studio done that was remotely interesting?

Nex Machina, Crusin'n Blast and Dirty Drivin.

You know when we're talking about Eugene... it kinda disappoints me that we can take his 80's work and call much of the stuff that Raw Thrills keeps pumping out on occasion a joke by comparison.  I don't know if the guy would be personally insulted in me saying that, but I keep thinking that the restrictions and demands of this industry shouldn't be holding him back from topping himself.  Everyone knows that 90% of what gets milled out of Raw Thrills is basically nothing more then licensed crap anyway.

I guess I dont get to see much of redemption stuff now.

Very few real arcades left here now. The ones that are tend to be split between a handful of arcade games, some redemption “physical” games and the gamblers.

As I said before on games like whack a mole redemption works fine, its something for nothing essentially.

But it does not belong on a video game, video games are about high scores and panning your mates not picking up stupid penny toys.
That ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- belongs at the fair ground.

Nex Machina wasn't a Raw Thrills development.  Eugene only consulted on it because of it's a robotron-esque gameplay.

Have you actually played Crusin'n Blast?  The controls feel so sloppy and the gameplay is a failed attempt at the 90's racer update, but it doesn't have the refinement of those game of yore. Dirty Drivin is just Batman Arcade without the licensing.

I haven't found a location with Blast, but I was hoping it to be better.  Shame on hearing that consultant bit.  I had some thought that Eugene was behind it's development.

Seems RT is worse then I thought.  They're acting about as bad as Stern was when they held a monopoly.

What we need to do is get the guys who did the Streets Of Rage Remake out of retirement and get them working on an updated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game and an updated X-men Arcade (which was needed 23 years ago)
Every normal man must be tempted at times to spit on his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin to slit throats.

They need to start regulating these 'redemption' games (and ones with other similar novelty features such as excessive microtransations)  the same way as gambling games, they play on the same addictions and they're abuse of people with the same kind of mental illnesses.

FFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUU

why does it have to be so ---goshdarn--- big. almost 60 inches wide and 34 deep? that's going to limit some doorways it's gonna fit through.

In defense of Jarvis, I’m sure he needs to pay the bills.

TMNT was a blast when I was 13, into TMNT and had a dollar. Now that I’m 44 and can use unlimited credits through MAME, not so much. :)

"cheating" has soild you. you need to get back to your roots and get good instead of just "inserting" another quarter. you have no incentive.
