MAME high scores with new update
« on: October 06, 2017, 07:14:11 am »
I had this written in a groovymame thread but I'm assuming it isn't groovymame specific so I decided to make a general thread for it to see if I can sort out why my high scores aren't saving.

I updated to groovyMAME 0.190 and something to do with the way high scores are handled now isn't working properly on my setup. For some reason mame simply isn't recognizing the plugin

I have to be missing something but from what I can see everything seems correct? This is on two separate builds I'm having the same problem. I have created plugins folder, I have a fresh hiscore.dat, I have edited mame.ini, all my paths seem correct, edited plugin.ini. Whenever I start mame, it won't show any plugin. Then if I close and reopen it says error reading plugin.ini and my plugin ini file will be blank. Any suggestions?

I've attached my screen cap

Your picture shows "noplugin" after assigning a plugin.  Could it be possible that as MAME is sequentially dealing with your options the hiscore assignment is being cleared?

Honestly I'm not sure. I did a fresh install of MAME 0.190 with the exact same settings and it worked. It must have been missing some required file or setting somewhere.
