Trigger Stick Options for Arcade Controls
« on: September 29, 2017, 09:47:57 am »
Hi Folks, as far as I know, there are only really two options for an arcade trigger stick, HAPP's humongous 8 way trigger stick or the Night Mission Trigger stick from GGG(which is identical to the Mini Grip that Ultimarc sell, aside from a marginally longer shaft on the Ultimarc one btw).

Anyone know of any other good options for a control panel?

My issue is that the HAPP one is large and clumsy and the alternative (which is what I am using now) feels, well, a bit cheap.

Thoughts?

IIRC the Sanwa JLJ-PL2-8V was used in Virtual-On cabs and at least one type of standalone dual stick controller.

I think Paradise Arcade used to carry them, but I can't find the listing.   :dunno

Arcadeshop.de has them here.

Ask Bryan from Paradise Arcade (armi0024) his source might still have a few.

If not, how about a twin-stick? (there may be differences)

https://www.amazon.com/Twin-Stick-Dreamcast-RARE-sega/dp/B0001RBMZO/

There may be more useful info here.

No luck in Arcadeshop.de (not even answering e-mails). Paradise are looking into it. Anyone got any other suggestions? These things are pretty hard to find I can tell you!

I'm using the Mini grip stick for a project and it works well. It does feel a bit cheap but the problem is the price skyrockets if you want anything more substantial like the sanwa... plus they are hard to find. I just couldn't justify it even if I wanted to...

Yeah, the mini grip works fine for now - I know what you mean about the price too. Although its less of an issue if you cant actually buy them anyway!
