NSM Firebird II
« on: September 23, 2017, 02:08:15 am »
I just picked up a working Firebird II. It is an awkward size so I would like to hang it on a wall. The damn thing weighs a ton and I don’t have the factory bracket. Any suggestions on how I could do this? If wall hanging doesn’t work I may try to build a stand for it.

Hopefully someone has had similar issues in the past and came up with an idea. Thanks

I have seen pictures online of them. The question is where would I find one or how would I make one that would work?

ok this DOSE NOT CHANGE from 1 wall mount to the other
https://www.google.ca/search?q=nsm+wall+mount+bracket&dcr=0&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiz0rnHjbzWAhUH1oMKHZAHC1kQsAQIQg&biw=1344&bih=746#imgrc=KwPkZuoj-Jbc0M:&spf=1506197105475
that is your exact image u need
WHAT u need to do is make sure u have the (4) plastic nubs , 1 on each corner of the juke box
as they go into the u slots u see , also there is a bolt used in the middle (do u have it)? or need its size ?
also dry fit it first, u do this for level and square or your door pins will bind and u will snap 1 off

I improvised with some uni-strut and now have it hanging up on my wall!  :applaud:

Now my question is there are lots of pics of these online they would appear to have different colored fluorescent lights. I only have the standard white tubes and can’t find any colored tubes. Anyone know where I could find this?

that is because they are not colored tubes but rather the tubes are covered will jel paper
it is the same lens covering they use on stage lighting par38/par56 etc

Cool, so could I buy some jel paper and cut it to suit and wrap it around the bulb with some tape?

Melt?

proper polyester color gel film won't melt. it's made to withstand very high temperatures. over 400 °F (200 °C)

I cut the gel film and wrapped it around the fluorescent bulbs then I just used regular electrical tape to hold the gel film together around the bulbs. hope this stays in tact as I didn’t know what else to use.

Looks awesome, thanks for the help again Ed!
