Project 64 2.3 issue with Maximus

I know most N64 emulators have issues. But when Maximus launches this emulator, the games show up as a tiny dot in the center of the screen, which makes it unplayable, I can still hear the sound from the rom. When launching the emulator outside Maximus, the roms run fine. I haven't tested with another front end.
Any help would be appreciated.
