  • I want to build my own arcade controls!
I'm running Groovymame for my New Astro City with MS9-29 in 15khz. When playing vertical games, Groovymame and CRT emudriver switches to some interlaced resolution.

So my question is, if I put my chassis in 24khz or get a 15k/24k auto switch chassis, would those vertical games run on better non-interlaced resolution?

Hi, according to typical crt_range for 24 khz it seems you can achieve 384 to 400 lines in progressive fashion.

arcade_25

      crt_range0  24960-24960, 49.50-65.00, 0.800, 4.000, 3.200, 0.080, 0.200, 1.000, 0, 0, 384, 400, 768, 800

So yes it can be beneficial for some vertical games run on a horizontal monitor.

Thanks, I tried some vertical games on tri-sync monitor, it indeed switched to 24khz mode.
