JVL Vortex - trouble booting says "searching for usb device"

I have a JVL vortex that was working fine but now only boots to a screen that says " searching for usb device" that's it. Just stays on that screen. I can't figure out how to get past it. I have never seen this problem before. Anybody have any thoughts?

Does the vortex use CF or SD card? It sounds like one of those took a $hit.

It uses the CF card. Hmmm I've never had one of those go bad. I'll have to look into that.
