Removing unwanted modelines crt emu driver
« on: September 01, 2017, 06:13:46 am »
Hi all,

In a situation where my crt is having modes that are not suited for the screen I. E. 720x480 at 60hz interlaced, Im sure it should be 720x480 30hz interlaced. Same goes for 640x480 as some applications are favouring the 60hz rather than the 30hz.

Any ideas as I'm completely stuck

Hd 5870

Thanks

Hi,

I had a similar issue with CRT Emudriver 2.0, you can try:

1 - Disable service: AMD External events utility
2 - Ensure that the Windows advanced display option is enable: "hide modes that is monitor cannot display"

Do not hesitate to give more information about your configuration: OS, drivers, faulty applications, etc.  ;)

You could try removing some modes - http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,153488.msg1608259.html#msg1608259

I think it's a reporting issue you're having, most of us see both 640x480@30i and 640x480@60i in the list, and, in my experience at least, both work fine. The timings are normally identical.

Hi,

I'm not sure what you don't find, so here are detailed informations:

- Press Win+R, then enter "services.msc"
- In the service list, you should find one called "AMD External Events Utility" (if the service is not present in the list, then you probably don't have a correct Radeon drivers/CRT Emudriver installation).
- Right-click on it and select "Properties"
- On the panel: click on "stop" and select "Disabled" as "Startup type".

Once done, ensure that "hide modes that is monitor cannot display" is activated.
