AimTrack with recoil - Failed MOSFETs?
p4lmore:
A few months ago I had a storm roll through and a resulting power flicker had caused my MAME cab to reset.(surge protected).
Yet upon power on I noticed one of my Aimtrack reoil light guns clicking. I looked inside the cab and saw its power brick's LED flickering (36v).
I chalked this up to a typical failure and just opted to replace the power brick. (At the time the other gun had no issues).
When the new brick came I hooked it up, and same flickering LED and light clicking coming from the light gun, so I hooked the new power brick up to the other light gun... Now it began to flicker and the second light gun was making a clicking noise.
At this point I decided to pull them apart and break out the multi-meter. While probing around I happened to notice the MOSFET was extremely HOT so I pulled it from the board to get its part number etc and replace them.
I did after, check all my 36v PSUs with my multi meter and they all checked out (no real load on them of course).
So I'm leaning towards the MOSFETs. The only problem I am having is locating the part.
FQP33N10 with E38 in the top right corner.
I can't seem to find a spec sheet on these, or even a direct replacement part.
Where can I source a replacement or what is an available replacement that I can grab from digikey or otherwise?
I did order a set of FQP33N10 G43 (tested, recoil did not function) and some FQP33N10 J44 (not yet tested).
Or am I even barking up the right tree with replacing this part?
Thank you
(edit. I have replaced the MOSFETs with both options I purchased, and still no go. I can hear a slight *click* very slight, when I run the test function from the Aimtrak application. It may be time to break out the multimeter again and see where voltage is going next)

Have you contacted Andy @ ultimarc regarding this?
p4lmore:
Yeah, I sent Andy an email a few weeks ago and followed up originally with a post on MAMEWorlds Ultimarc Forums.
I haven't seen any replies on either venue yet, so hoping someone may have an idea here =)

If we received an email of this type I would definitely have replied. So I can only conclude that the email didnt reach us for some reason. We can help with repair or replacement. The Mosfet is a 33N10 though.
Can you re-send the email?

the part number FQP33N10 is correct.

the extra number you have (E38) is just going to be a lot/date code not relevant to its performance.
