Can I swap this out???

Good evening.. first post, just a quick question... (im reading a lot, great forum you have here).

That joystick, with a stick like the old fighter games like this.

I just cant seem to find if threads are matched etc... so if anyone has any experience with that, that would be great.
I dont mean the entire thing, clearly thats possible, but just the stick itself.

Might have to do a little tinkering but it shouldn't be too difficult.

It won't fit.  The holes do not line up.  The one you have is a Japanese layout.  The HAPP layout is different.

You'd have to drill new holes for the new joystick.  Hence the modding.

No, but they do make bat tops for the Japanese style sticks.
(they are a bit smaller than the one on the happ style joysticks though)

EDIT: add a joystick shaft cover and a stiffer spring to make it more like the American style sticks

Alternatively, you can get an American stick and this adapter plate the will allowing swapping of brands, without having to drill new holes.

(they are a bit smaller than the one on the happ style joysticks though)

this is what i was looking for... I dont have good access under the board though, so adding a spring may be tough.. but at least I can add the top stick part.

That Adapter worked to allow my jlf fit in my neo geo mvs. It's a good product.

the joystick is mounted underneath, and I dont have access to the screws etc to swap a plate etc.  The only thing i can really do is change the ball to something else
