I doubt it, but you can use certain shaders and overlays for sure.

But if you bought an Orange Pi, try it yourself. If you didn't buy one: consider the RPi3 instead. You would probably don't notice the few extra bucks the RPi costs, but it will save you from a lot of possible frustrations.  The Orange Pi's just don't have that community you would want for a fully out-of-the-box functional retro gaming system.

I bought an Orange Pi because it seemed a bit faster than the RPi3. Eventually I ended up buying a RPi3 as the Orange Pi didn't play well with a normal HDMI to VGA adapter (RetrOrangePi dev told me YMMV). Besides that issue, working with such a "clone" is just not the real experience. Shaders not working, certain wifi adapters not working, etc. You can try, but don't expect "support" when it doesn't work.

Putting aside the above dont cheap out on your hardware (any of it) because 1) it will frustrate you and 2) cost you more because you end up upgrading anyway!

Buy what you can afford.  Learn how to use it in your application and document.  Without people like you taking the plunge for an alternative, it is hard to form a consensus of opinion.

In this day of age, saving a few euros is worth the effort.  I applaud you.  :applaud:

shader dont work with orange pi...

otherwise great cheap cheap board. I set some of these up recently. orangepi one isnt that good it locks up whenever. Id rather pay $5 more for the pi pc instead..and you get the faster cpu..
