iPac Ultimate Board connection question - help!
« on: June 30, 2017, 02:44:06 pm »
I have a iPac Ultimate board and having trouble working out whee the harness/connections go.  The Button LEDS have coloured wires that fit a 4wire adapter that plugs into the board, but what order do the wires connect?  I cannot find anything about these so thought I'd post of the forums for help.
Same for all my Rollerball, Spinner and other connections.

I have attached the images to help with the explanation:
Full Controller board (back)
iPac (Joystick Harness and Power attached)
Joystick Cable (non buttons)
Joystick LED Cable End
Button LED Cable Ends
Rollerball Cable Ends

If I can connect the Button LED's then I can connect the Joystick Harness (as shown in image of iPac).  Then just to fit all the other parts but where and how do they go into the ipac Ultimate board please? :)

If you look at the lower part of the iPac board just under the LED inputs, you'll see "+RGB" and "BGR+". Those stand for ground, red, green, blue respectively. I believe your buttons are Ultimarc LEDs (maybe Ultralux?), which have the color coded wires coming out of the LED portion of the pushbutton apparatus. Ultimarc makes it pretty easy - red wire is the red LED, green wire is green LED, blue wire is blue LED, and yellow or black is ground. Just make sure the wires are in the correct order when you insert them into the 4-wire housing based on the "+RGB" order it specifies on the board and you should be all set!

Then just keep track of which buttons are in which LED spot (1-3, 4-6, etc all the way up to 94-96) and you'll be able to use the software to specify how you want them lit up.

Thanks, so simple I cannot believe I missed that :)  DOH!

On another note where do I plug in the ground?  I have a ground loop for the buttons.

Also, how do I extend the cables from the harness?  As these are set inside the harness.  Is there extension cables available for buttons?

Thanks.

The ground is in the corner of the harness. Marked as GND on the board.

If you need to extend a wire you can make a extension wire up plug a male spade QD into the end of the female QD on the harness with another female on the end.

Thanks,  I know these may seem silly questions but here's what I am left to do, and I can't see the wood from the trees so to speak :)

Cabling
Female ends on plugs - need male connectors/extensions cables?  (For at least 15 of the cables at this stage). The iPad Ultimate Harness does not reach both side sof the controls.
> Ground from Daisy Chain - I assume I have to extend this using male/female conenctors as above?

Joystick
Joy Switcher - How does it fit? (4/8 way) see image
Where do the blank/red cables from joystick switch motor go?

Spinners
Spinnder extensions (4 cables on one) x2 required  - do you sell these longer than 20cm or have an alternative solution please.
> Where does 2nd Spinner plug into iPac Ultimate board?

Trackball
How does Trackball fit onto iPac Ultimate?
> Board shows:  5V/Y1/Y2/G and 5V/X2/X1/G
> Ends of Trackball conenctors are: Black/Green/Yellow/Red and (Blank)/Purple/Blue/Red (see image)
> Where/How does the Ground from the Trackball Ground fit?  Is it a case of cutting the end and linking to the button Ground connectors?

iPac Other Connections
> What are the 1A Drivers connectors for? (Gnd/49/50/51 and 5V/1/2/3)
> A1,AB,2A,2B Harness - are these for spare buttons?

Coin Door
> What do I need to connect to power the LED for the coin door/mech

LED Power
> How do I connect the LED power when my motherboard has now FDD connector (all SATA connectors).
> Can I buy an adapter for this?

Thanks in advance.  Always helpful :)

Just like to avoid any duplication of effort here.

The questions being asked I have already answered direct via an ongoing email exchange.
