LCD for a sit down Cruisin' USA
« on: June 07, 2017, 08:38:47 pm »
Hey folks,

I need some help picking a LCD for my Cruisin sit down, the CRT is dead. I watched this vid and thought this could work (size wise) but ill take any and all far more experienced feedback.

Appreciate that, anyone else have anything with a slightly cheaper price tag? Wife might not appreciate that with a pending vacation but I'm not going to rule it out.

Craigslist or eBay a replacement CRT. That would be much cheaper.

I had tried that first, funny story about that.

I had contacted a gentlemen on craigslist about a CRT, he had a 27 inch from a Rush machine, 200$ he would come out and install it in my Crusin. He came out and hooked it all up just for the monitor not to work, looked like the board was bad, said he had another one he would run back to his shop / home pick it up and be back in a few days. I offered to give him some $$$ since he was leaving the monitor but he declined and left.

A few days later and he hasn't contacted me and I have contacted him a dozen times but he just never calls back, found him again on Craigslist and sent him an email but he just ignored it. Here I have a broken 27 inch that I didn't pay for lol.

Ill check CL again but the arcade market out here in CO isn't flourishing with extra parts.

I went ahead and just ordered the official replacement, I have taken the time to restore the pedestal and replace all the other missing parts and pieces so I might as well do it right. Wife is going to cut me off for a week or two but that's the price you pay haha.

LCD came in BUUUUT the adjustment board was broken, a pot was off and most the knobs were snapped off as well. I went ahead and wired it up at the back and fired it up, was good to see it running even if it needed adjustments that I couldn't do lol.

Contacted Suzo and they are thinking a full swap instead of just sending me a new board which sucks but if they go that route then so be it.

Yea, that would have been the cheaper route for sure. They sent me out a new adjustment board, I plugged it in and verified functionality now I have to figure out how to mount it. For being the official replacement it sure wont mount like one lol.

So I need the confirmation on this:

https://na.suzohapp.com/products/monitors/49-2906-KIT

This mounting kit will work for the official monitor and mount to the "stock" mounting brackets right?

The drop in LCDs all need an adapter bracket or a mount frame.  That's just how it goes.  Factor that in whenever making a conversion to LCD.

The instructions are wrong but it was easy enough to figure out and it does indeed mount to the factory mounts so I'm happy. Now to figure out the Bezel lol. Sorry about the sideways pics, no idea why its posting them like that, they are fine on my phone and on mydesktop.
