My Latest Cabinet - DK Wine Barrel
« on: May 14, 2017, 10:48:00 am »
Hey guys, I have been reading and learning tonnes from everyone here for a long time, but haven't contributed much.

This is my latest project, and wanted to see what everyone thought of it.  It worked out pretty good, I am overall fairly happy with it, my only complaint is I don't have side-by-side controls for things like Robotron, but of course that is also the intended design! I've never sold any of my machines before, but have put this up in my local buy and sell, as I have other plans for more machines my games room :)

Thanks,
Ryan

You must be new here...

Are the undersides of the control panel open air? Meaning not enclosed?

It looks like somebody stapled arcade controls to the side of a barrel.

Well if your gonna ruin a barrel, at least do the job right.

The controls needs to be integrated into the barrel not just attached to the sides.

Some stain would have been nice and that's a horrible spot for the volume control.

It looks like you've oversized the bezel graphics, and i'm not seeing a reason for a 6 button layout on this setup, as you will not be able to play any 2 plyr style fighting games simultaneously.

PREACH!

Also OP don't  take anything personally, but you aren't exactly breaking new ground here.  Here's some light reading for you...

Wow. Just to think. That was full of wine one day...

I'm gonna say nothing about the design/aesthetics...

Once again, welcome to BYOAC...where the reception is usually warmer than you'd like.

Also, I tend to agree about the exposed wiring.

Rest of it looks good.
