UNWANTED Screen Rotation.
« on: April 25, 2017, 05:17:47 pm »
Ok I have a dedicated cab "METHOD2MYMADNESS" that I built 6 years ago that I'm getting ready to sell. I have a problem that if you button mash the screen will change orientation. I think its a video card shortcut but I can't figure out how to eliminate it from happening. I'm running mame 146 with GUI and Mala 174 on a windows xp. winpac joystick set up two player 6 button plus addcoin and start for both players.

Is there a way I can turn this off? It's been a few years and I'm a little rusty with everything. Also I have completely removed Microsoft from my life and have strictly used Linux for the last 3 years and dread having to fuss with windows again. I apologize in advance if this question has been aswered somewhere else. I did try to find an answer but to be honest I did not dig super deep. I'm just hoping that someone in this wonderful community might have a quick fix for me.
I'm going to take a quick video of the problem and attach in a few minutes.

Ctrl+Alt+arrow keys can be used to rotate the display in various ways. Think MAME uses Ctrl and Alt for buttons 1 and 2, by default. The best thing to do is assign your buttons to other keys, and re-define the defaults in MAME.

Disable windows hot keys.  It may also be an option in the video card software.

I never use the first four default MAME keys.

My grandma uses a windows PC everyday. She doesn't have any problems. She must be a computer genius. ::)
