MAME arcade games with hardcoded inputs?
« on: April 23, 2017, 04:09:47 pm »
eg Asteroids, where changing the general input keys (default.cfg) doesn't filter down to the game.

Any info appreciated: eg is there a list? how many are there roughly ? Any ideas on how to make a list eg how to search for them in eg mame.xml?

When you change the controls in a game, you're changing Input For This Game, not General. In your CFG folder in Mame folder, there should be an asteroid.cfg file written. Mame will find cfg files for any game you change controls for. Is that what the issue is?
