  • I want to build my own arcade controls!
I apologize if this isn't the correct forum for this.

I purchased a bartop arcade from an online seller (he makes them) and am having some issues with both hardware and software. Was curious if there was anyone on this forum with expertise with emulators and hardware that wouldn't mind networking up and helping me out. I'm in Jacksonville Florida and just curious if anyone is close by. Please message me!

Tell us who the online seller is. Maybe we can shame them into providing some decent customer service.

Lol

He's providing customer service but it's not that easy as I don't really like following what feels like blind instructions. Plus the left joystick came where it barely moves to the upper left rendering all 8 way directional games obsolete. And while he will surely tell me how to replace it that's not something I'm skilled enough to really do.

So just looking for someone near Jacksonville that might be able to provide hands on assistance. If anyone lives nearby please reply :)

It would be helpful for others to know who the seller is. Your purchase shouldn't need a bunch of tech support right out of the gate. That is a seller to avoid.

I agree I just don't want him publically shamed yet. But trust me I'm not opposed. Once I find someone close to my town I have no problem making sure he's avoided. But for now he's my only help :(

Post up some pictures and the problems and we can prob help you on here.
Probably simple to fix errors, these things normally are!

As for the software i would not be surprised if the seller used cloned or pre configured hard drives which rarely work properly so you may have a multitude of problems there but again give us some details and we will see.

If you can wait, I will be in Jax in 2-3 months and I am coming to Orlando at the end of the month.

If I knew you wanted to buy a partially working cabinet, I would have sold you mine, which plays all games and works but the accessories need some tweaking.
