High Score Competition #214: Biomechanical Toy
« on: March 27, 2017, 08:17:20 pm »
High Score Competition rules and scoreboard found here: http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,143138.0.html

----------------------
Game Name : Biomechanical Toy
ROM Name  = "biomtoy"
----------------------

Settings: Difficulty = Normal
               Lives = 2
Controls
   Joystick: 8-way
   Buttons: 3 Fire-Jump-Start/Bomb

From Wikipedia:
A criminal called Scrubby has escaped. He was imprisoned for trying to steal the Magic Pendulum - which brings toys to life. Relik, a cuckoo clock, guards the pendulum. Scrubby appears suddenly and steals the pendulum. You, a hero called Inguz, are called on to recover the pendulum before the toys' magical world disappears...

You control a hero who has to traverse toyland and shoot evil toys, collect power-ups, and defeat bosses to advance levels. The gameplay is similar to that of the better known Metal Slug series of videogames.

Fabulous game. I like it about 832x better than the last one. =D

Played once. Thought my score was good. Not good enough for initials. And once your game is over, it appears that you don't get to see your score again during the attract mode after the continue countdown has finished. So, take those snaps ASAP!

Thanks
-Jason

i have not participated in the last 140 competitions so i might join in
@jasonbar it will eventually show you the high scores i think 2000000 before you can put your name up and there is only 3 slots
my highest in only 2,383,920 so far

Tip: at the first there is 100,000 in the dragon statue just shoot it a few times
Tip2: the flying hat will give a good bonus if you shoot it enough 200,000 i think

Glad you guys are enjoying it! Another tip is to keep your eyes open for balloons at the very top of the screen. There are a few you can only see the very bottoms of at the top of your jump and that's the only time you can shoot them. I haven't made the top 3 yet either. I'm only at about 1.4 Million

Waiting for the attract mode to cycle around to the high scores helps only if you have one.  =[

546,000 on my 2nd game. Be sure to capture your score during the continue countdown timer.

Slightly better. Another tip is to look for sparkles in the ground. Shoot them a few times and a bonus item pops up worth 100k or so

Haha, yep. That stage got crazy. I'm liking this game, and wish I could've really dove in earlier. Every time I walk away from it, I keep thinking of ways I could've done a little bit better.

It is odd. I've really grown to like it.  I think if the music didn't suck so bad, the game would be easier to love. jmho
