Hey,
I am building a dual monitor cabinet for myself and a friend, I have a few threads around about it. There are a few requirements we agreed on for these cabinets...
1.) Entire control panel should be removable and allow attachment to an external PC/Console (or add an additional raspberry pi and be able to use on the projector).
2.) Cabinet should be able to separate in the middle, so that the with the control removed, allowed easier transport or replacement of pieces in the future.
3.) Can be used as a stand up or sitting cabinet (with 24" bar stools)
I am not sure of the best way to secure the control panel in a easily removable way since the panel only overlaps the lower base by 4". The panel is 47" x 13" x 3/4", with an approx 5" deep 1/2" lower box both made of MDF. So far my thought process is to use 4x 2" hanger bolts in the base where the CP rests, with matching holes in the CP. This way I can set the CP down on top of all 4 bolts then screw it in with wing nuts. Then maybe add some extra support with 2 strong L-brackets.
So ignoring the monitor supports in these images, here are a few shots of the frame design, any advice or cools ways to accomplish this? I want the CP to be really secure but removable.
(Don't mind the monitor supports in the image, i went a different way and never updated the sketchup)
Thanks,
Tom
