Help assigning controls
« on: March 22, 2017, 08:56:20 pm »
Hi, all!

Almost finished with my MAME cabinet. It is a Defender repro, running Raspberry Pi 3, RetroPie. I have a dedicated Defender control panel, using an Ultimarc IPAC2.

It will boot up, and it responds to the USB gamepad.  When I set up the controls, it registers input from the control panel. Until, I get to the "Left" and "Right" mapping. The Defender control panel has no L and R. It won't let me skip past.  So, I assigned the other buttons to buttons on the QWERTY keyboard.

It doesn't seem to work. I can start Defender, and it goes through the boot screen, etc, like it's ready to play. But, I can't start a game.

Can someone give me some help, tips, direction - help me, Obi-wan, you're my only hope!!!

Nevermind.  I realized that I didn't insert a virtual quarter.  It's good, now!
